Privacyand your information
What this site collects, what it does not, and what happens to anything you send me.
This website is operated by Alabaster Bookkeeping LLC, a limited liability company based in Florida, USA, which is responsible for the personal information described here.
This policy explains what personal information Alabaster Bookkeeping collects through this website, why it is collected, and what happens to it. It covers the website at alabasterbk.com. Information you share with me once you are a client is also governed by your signed engagement letter.
What I collect
I try to collect as little as possible, and only what I actually need to answer you.
Information you give me
- What you type into the inquiry form: your name, your email address, and the details you choose to share about your business and the state of your books.
- Anything you send me if you email or text me directly, including your phone number if you text.
- Information exchanged during a consultation call.
Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs kept by my web host, which include your IP address, browser type, the pages you requested, and the time of the request. These are created by the hosting platform for security and reliability, not by me for marketing.
I do not use analytics software, advertising pixels, session recording, or any other visitor tracking on this website.
How I use it
I use the information you send to reply to your inquiry, to understand what kind of bookkeeping support you need, to prepare a proposal, and to deliver services if you become a client.
I do not sell your personal information. I do not rent, trade, or otherwise share it for anyone else's marketing. I will not add you to a mailing list from an inquiry form submission.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not set cookies, and it does not store anything in your browser to identify or follow you. Because of that, there is no cookie banner to click. If that ever changes, for example if I add analytics, this policy will be updated first and a consent notice will be added where one is required.
The inquiry form is hosted by a third party and opens in a new tab on its own website, which may set cookies of its own. Their policy applies once you are there, and it is linked in the next section.
Third parties
A small number of outside services are involved in running this site and this business. Each one has its own privacy policy.
- Hostinger hosts the website and keeps the server logs described above. Hostinger privacy policy (opens in a new tab)
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on these pages. Your browser requests those font files from Google, so Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Google privacy policy (opens in a new tab)
- Tally hosts the inquiry form. What you type into that form is submitted to Tally and forwarded to me. Tally privacy policy (opens in a new tab)
- Google Workspace handles my email and the Google Meet calls used for consultations. Google privacy policy (opens in a new tab)
- QuickBooks Online and Xero are the accounting platforms client bookkeeping is performed in. Intuit privacy policy (opens in a new tab) · Xero privacy policy (opens in a new tab)
I share information with these providers only so far as they need it to do their job. I do not give any of them permission to use your information for their own marketing.
Client financial records
If you become a client, I will handle financial records for your business. That information is treated as confidential.
- Wherever the software allows it, I work through the accountant or bookkeeper access that QuickBooks Online and Xero provide, so you are not handing me your own login credentials.
- Your records are used to perform the bookkeeping you engaged me for, and for nothing else.
- Your financial information is never sold, and it is not shared outside the engagement except with people you direct me to share it with, such as your accountant, or where the law requires disclosure.
How long I keep it
Inquiries that do not become engagements are kept while there is a reasonable chance of a follow up conversation, and then deleted. Client records are kept for as long as the engagement lasts and afterwards for the period required for tax and professional recordkeeping. You can ask me to delete an inquiry sooner at any time.
Your rights
Whatever state or country you are in, you are welcome to ask me to:
- Tell you what personal information of yours I hold.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete it, where I am not required to keep it.
- Stop contacting you.
Residents of states and countries with specific privacy laws, including California and the European Economic Area, may have further rights under those laws. Email me and I will honor a request of this kind regardless of where you live, rather than checking first whether I am obliged to.
Contact
For anything in this policy, or to make one of the requests above, email hello.alabasterbk@gmail.com or text (941) 404-3387.
This website is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
